A-B-C’s of Archimedes

by C. Biscuit on November 5, 2008

So, now that the elections have officially named our next president elect, you might find yourself wondering: how can I be part of the change? What organizations are out there working for health care revolutions…?

Well, look no further. Dr. John Kitzhaber and the magnificent members of the Archimedes Movement stand at a pivotal point:

Currently, the Archimedes Movement is “discussing the limitations of the current health care debate and how we change the focus of the debate to include the true causes of the health care crisis, the need to have a shared vision of where we are trying to get to and build grassroots demand for change that cannot be ignored.”

aA. Archimedes was a man ahead of his time. He lived around 250 BC and created simplistic solutions for complex systems and strategic design; the catapult and lever were two noteworthy inventions of his that we still use today. The lever was ingenious, in that, you could move a heavy object (like our health care system) with less force, more finesse, if placed at just the right position and angle. That’s where the Archimedes Movement is poised. Now we simply need more momentum from people like you.

bB. We believe in a better health care system, and we shall stop at nothing until we see it so. In each of our hearts we foresee a potential that is so altruistically driven, adequately accommodating a health care system for billions of people, it’s impossible not to pursue. It is this unshakable belief in a benevolent system that we dedicate ourselves to the Archimedes mission.

cC. Archimedes is all about community. Each one of us brings a totally different perspective to the table, providing a holistic point of view. It is through our multi-facetted approach that we are able to achieve this lofty goal. Everyone supports the system with their personal skills and sees to it that the Archimedes Movement keeps a forward, far-reaching momentum towards a brighter future for health care.

.. because…

We can do better…

and we will.

Here’s your chance to make health care happen in your immediate community, look no further than the Archimedes Movement.
