… So.. yeah… The Helfgott blog is finally resurfacing after some major overhauling on its website. I realize that some of you all out there in cyberland felt confused, dismayed, and alarmed that our informational news source came to a standstill… <insert pregnant pause here>….
However, I am happy to admit that a technical glitch in the matrix downed our electronic systems at the beginning of September 2009, not a lack of inspirational findings. This technicality turned into a rather large well-it’s just-gotta-be-fixed-project, which then equated into one of those types of projects that simply scream “typo” ,”error: does not compute”, “check with master before engaging system” and all the while, time seemed pressed with a fast-forward button, and then appeared as if all computing tools (like pecking haphazardly upon a keyboard) were utterly useless… well….
I am the first to admit that the major brunt of the force fell upon our astute webmaster, Deepest Health avatar, Eric Grey, who somehow managed to find ALL of our webpostings dating back from 2007. From my understanding, our deluge of articles simply blipped out of existence, and somehow Eric coaxed them back online, corralling each into its respective, designated cell. I’m not exactly sure what’s involved with that sort of process other than, without Eric, our little Helfgott hub would be completely imaginary… akin to tears in the rain. For all of you Phillip K Dick fans out there, yes, I even considered putting tinfoil atop my computer monitor in a bunny-eared fashion.
Yet what I can say is that after a mere two and a half months, we’ve not only tamed the proverbial IT beast (with an exception to a few missing imagery for articles), but we’ve also upgraded our Wordpress Theme to Thesis. This new fandangled approach makes it super easy for all you landlubbers to navigate the new and improved Helfgott Blog alla 2009.
And to send us off, center stage for the next round of fun-filled blogging (think jelly doughnut style) our very own Kmars with his inspirational words:
“We have not had a posting in quite some time and yet life has kept rolling.
Babies have been born; couples married. Leaves have begun to color and die; vacations, holidays, projects, all waxing and waning.
Grants have left with hopeful anticipation, pumped with woo-full energy. And although some have returned with bitter pangs of regret, some have rode back on the backs of promise. So come, come and dance in the realm of the new Helfgott Blog revamp. Catch up with old friends and tell your stories for the ever deepening lines on our faces and the dwindling pigments of our hair suggests not only the passage of time but a constant forward momentum; carrying us, dragging us, lifting us toward the accumulations of our wisdoms and the fruition of our plans.”
